After successfully completing the Theories and Strategies of Teaching Writing Course at Mills College, I was extended the opportunity to teach a Reading, Writing and Research course at Berkely City College, in Berekely California. At the same time I acted as a Teaching Assistant for an Intro to Humanities course at Mills College. These experience provided a formidable foundation for teaching positions at small colleges like The College of New Rochelle to larger state schools like Rutgers University.
Teaching at the collegiate level has also proved fruitful research to explicating black female intersectionality. My didactic but sometimes chagrin experiences aquaint me with societal truths buried in what the contemporary world masks as progress. My experiences provide a resonant discourse to explicate black female intersectionality as a teacher, student of life, and budding scholar of English.
